Thera4Care at EANM26
The consortium took part in the Annual Congress of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine through oral presentations, project meetings and various forms of representation.

From 17 to 21 October 2026, Thera4Care partners came together at EANM26, the Annual Congress of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM), at the Austria Center Vienna. It was the first time the project attended the congress as an active consortium, with an oral presentation, three keynotes from Thera4Care colleagues, a presence at the industry booth, and a series of consortium meetings.
Thera4Care in the congress programme
Thera4Care research and expertise featured across the congress programme:

Oral presentation OP-368: "MIRROR: Multimodal AI-based Registry for Response and Outcome in 177Lu-PSMA Radioligand Therapy", presented by Daniele Antonio Pizzuto, Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS (FPG)
Keynote: "Exciting new isotopes for therapy – just a trend?", Emma Aneheim, University of Gothenburg
Keynote: "RLT and Chemo – Combination or Competition?", Wolfgang Fendler, University Hospital Essen
Keynote: "Prevention and Early Diagnosis in Oncology", Ken Herrmann, University Hospital Essen
Thera4Care partners were also at the industry booth throughout the congress.
Meeting in person to plan the next steps
Alongside the scientific programme, the consortium used the congress to meet in person and discuss progress and the next steps of the project in preclinical research, clinical research, and AI.
Salvatore Annunziata, Thera4Care Scientific Coordinator at FPG, explained why this matters:

"It's very important to us to meet here in person, giving us the opportunity to build networks and address the further implementation of the project in the coming years."
He also highlighted the many points of contact between the congress programme and Thera4Care's work, from theranostics and PET imaging to advanced tools, AI, and networking with other EANM projects. Two areas stood out in particular:
"In the field of theranostics, we are building up a new environment for FAP ligands and FAP theranostics. In the AI segment, we are working a lot on the elaboration and evaluation of PSMA agents."
Shifting the needle in theranostics
Ken Herrmann, University Hospital Essen, described why Thera4Care is relevant to nuclear medicine. In his talk, Ken focused on total-body PET and how to expand its footprint, making the case for exploring new applications, including screening, so that substantial investments in such technologies deliver real value. As he noted, this is work that can be carried out within Thera4Care:

"Thera4Care is of course much more than just total-body PET, but it shows how we are moving the frontier of technological advances."
Watch the videos
Salvatore and Ken shared their reflections on the congress in two short videos:
We would like to thank the EANM for hosting the congress, and everyone who attended our sessions, visited the booth, and met with the team. We look forward to building on the connections made in Vienna as the project moves forward.
